TheNovember 8, 2017 Board Meeting will begin at 6 PM.  There will be a public hearing for the budget at 7:30 PM.  Any interested parties are invited.

On the ballot for the November 7, 2017 election are Karen Fritts and Ed Butler for Councilpersons.

                          Road Closed
Flint Road will be closed from October 2, 2017 to November 9, 2017 for culvert installation.


        Tax Season 2017

New for 2017 will be the availability to pay your property taxes online with a credit card with the  TaxGlance system.

Any remodel jobs which require structural changes to existing construction also require a building permit.

There will be a $5.00 filing fee if you lose your   copy and require another.

The Code Enforcement Officer, Alan Butler, is responsible for inspections and enforcement only.  He may be reached at 849-6919. You must obtain your building permit from me, the Town Clerk, and include any necessary septic/well permits.  Pictures and/or sketches of the site and structure will be required.

At a future meeting, the Town Board will decide on penalties for failure to obtain building permits.

                   Dog Control

       The license fee for a spayed/neutered dog is $10.00.
The license fee for a dog that is not altered is  $20.00.
Late fees are $5.00 per month per dog and begin the day after the expiration date of the license.

Please renew promptly.  If you are found with an unlicensed dog at the time of a dog enumeration, you will be fined an additional $5.00 per Town Ordinance.
Licensing is simple and quick.  Proof of rabies is required as well as a spay/neuter certificate, if applicable.  Renewals can be done by mail. Just call or email for further information.

The position of Dog Control Officer for the Town of Lapeer is contracted with the Cortland County SPCA, located at 879 McLean Rd, Cortland, NY.  Dog licensing remains with the Town Clerk but issues involving dangerous, disruptive, abandoned, injured, running-at-large, or unlicensed dogs should be addressed to the SPCA at 753-9386.
